x.x So, I pretty much suck at everything.
First of all, this is the first time I have ever drawn a lion. OxO So it came out all...wrong-looking. x.x;;; But! It DOES serve as something of a milestone for me. See, not long ago (...like, a month ago. Who do I think I'm bullshitting? Srzly.) ~DDandDL caught my 20,000 pageview kiriban. Aaaaand asked for something I've never done before: a picture of his character, DJ. Well. I was a little perplexed. I had never even attempted anything this cat-like before, so having to do so kinda... o___o; Thrilled me in a way that borderlines giddiness at the concept of trying something new. .... Why did it take so long, you ask? Well. To answer this, you'd have to know me well enough to know how much I dislike change. I was trying my hardest to stick to my own art for a bit, and when I'm not in the mood to draw animals, I'm just flat out not in the mood. x.x Change is usually exciting enough, but I have to drag myself kicking and screaming through it. This is because me, being me, makes very little sense. See, I tend to have a daily schedule that I stick to. In my head, it makes sense. It's so bad, nearly every hour on the hour is planned out for me. As random a person as I am, there is a lot of meticulousness that only adds to how quirky I really am. x.o; Meticulously quirky pretty much explains my entire personality. Anyway! ~DDandDL's character are totally TLK, and it was so much fun listening to the movie soundtrack over and over again while doodling this. o___o I've not listened to it since I was a kiddo. << Sadly, I still know all the words. I don't know much about DJ as a character, so I had to wing most of it. o____o; But he kind of reminds me of one of those lone wolf.... >>;;; lions. Yes. and you aaalmost got the colors right.
Next time, use the eye dropper tool to sample some colors from the background and use them
and i can see some white in the lineart?
Are you doing these on a transparent background or cutting and pasting from a white canvas~ I would probably advise the former.

Oh my god, that's genius. You're so right, I hadn't even thought of using a trasparent background. OxO I had actually planned on doing a background myself, but ended up coping out at the last minute in order to actually get it done. So, what...can I cut the background? Or, you know, copy and paste to a trasparent background when the picture I intend to paste into another document is done?

If your using a program with layers just create 3 layers or more and set them out like this
1 >>>Lineart (transparent) Top layer
2 >>> Color (transparent)(you can have a few of these layers for diferent shades if you like, but one is usually enough.
3 >>>Background Bottom layer
else failing, save it as a .png or something and just insert it over another image.
Also
A tip you might find usefull.
you can use your original lineart for coloring digitally
you just need to use thick clear lines and clean lineart
and do it like this> [link]
That guide uses photoshop
but you get the idea
basically raise the contrast, steal the lineart and color under the lines.
after that you can then put the lineart in something like corel painter or whatever you use and color under the lines that way. again using layers.
